Kobe is not stupid enough to risk a chance to hurt his knee. A knee to knee bump exerts the same impact on both ends. Knees and ankles are the most frequently injured parts of the body.

But I think the league needs to review his elbow/knee on Shane but it won't happen.

lol, sure, Kobe just thought "oh there is Yao, let me go ahead and bang knees with him. hey he's had surgery on that knee, i've had two on the same knee, fair chance".

Anyway, if the Rockets can steal another one, this series is ours to take. Knowing the Lakers, they'll come back strong. We shouldn't let up a bit on Wednesday night.

That was a great game and a hugh win! I still felt unreal and almost wanted to bite my finger just to make sure it was not a dream. Even Yao said " amazing happens" when asked about the win. Now that we have a taste of it, why stop here? Let's go all the way!

Good points, JW. I like your statement, "Fight like a man." What he did last night was bush league -- very Bruce Bowen-like, who is the dirtiest cheapshot artist in the league (like putting his feet under jump shooters before they land so they'll rip up an ankle). Or when he hit Steve Nash in
the groin in a scrum when he thought it would be hard for the cameras to see.

If commish wants to protect him, he'd better send a couple of body guards. We will just need to send in a bench player to teach him how to play. I didn't realize he could be such a dirty player. He could easily end Shane's playoff run, right there. That single act changed my perspective of his play completely. If you want to fight, fight like a man. MJ throw a ball at Reggie Miller's face one time out of frustration. But he did it in front of everyone. Kobe, somehow, I always think he's one of those "little people". Even since that incidence in Colorado, there is always something about him not right. Maybe because skipped college made him what he is today. I don't know.

However, I like what he said "We just have to bounce back Wednesday and go from there." Where do you think you can go? We will help you as usual ... kick your butt again and harder. I'm glad we'll have at least three more times. The kid does not learn. ;-)

Wow, I'm so happy with this win. I only had a chance to watch the game until the second qtr b/c of the time diff and work, but when I saw the results today.... =-).

Can't wait to watch the rest of the game today as I DVR'ed it.

I agree and hope the league fines Kobe. I had a big reaction too when Kobe was playing dirty on that play when Shane stripped him. Unfortunately, we can't afford to lose anyone to suspensions for payback if we expect to win this series. Wish Deke's elbows were still available though =)

I'm proud of Yao and the Rockets and would be ecstatic if they win the series which they really can do.

Love your quotes, and everyone is making a great point about Kobe kneeing Shane in the head. I remember when I saw that, I couldn't believe it either. The one good thing is that it showed the whole world that Kobe still has a mean streak in him where he becomes this other person, and I mean that in a bad way. A fine is definitely warranted, but the commish will probably protect him.

* Lamar Odom: “We didn’t shoot the ball well for the first time in a long time, got off to a slow start and they got the lead.”
* Andrew Bynum: “It had a lot to do with the refs, but I also think we had too much time off and we kind of got out of sync. Tomorrow’s practice is on we’ll attack and work a lot on execution and defensive schemes.”
* Pau Gasol: “Obviously this wasn’t the way we wanted to start a series, and we weren’t as sharp as we should have been. We didn’t knock down a lot of our shots, and we had a couple of breakdowns defensively. It’s tough to play worse than that.”
* Shannon Brown: “Some of the time we didn’t execute our defensive assignments right and they took advantage. Yao (Ming) stretched the floor a little bit.”

Here is what I think:

for prior several days.

Yao played great tonight. More importantly, he played like a leader of this team. When the Rockets utilizes Yao's skills, the game is so much easier for everyone on the team.

Vujacic is a "pesky" defender, but at the same time a crying baby. He tries to get away with murder on the defense side, but does all the same things on the offensive side. He shot on Battier was cheap by all accounts. No question.

The bigger issue I have is...when Kobe and Battier had a mad scramble for the ball. If watch the reply, Kobe throws an elbow at Shane's head. I mean what the hell? Are you serious? Kobe is again, Kobe and gets away with crap like that. You guys remember the Bell vs. Kobe games? Same crap. I am glad Kobe is getting frustrated.

Finally, I have much more respect for Yao now. I always did, because of the way he plays the game and his persona off the court. He wanted to play and wanted to finish and that's exactly how a closer needs to finish. You need to step on the opponents throw and choke him out. He still needs to improve on not getting those ticky tacky fouls, but definitely, I am happy for him and the rockets.

AB and the Crazyman had very nice games as well.

What an Exciting game to watch here in LA!!! I truly enjoyed being able to trash talk all of the Faker fans that live in LA last night. Also John, besides the cheap shot by Sasha on Battier, when Kobe and Shane were diving on the floor early for a loose ball, Kobe intentionally kneed Shane in the face while getting up. He's lucky Shane is such a classy guy, and just walked away.

As someone who questioned the Alston trade, it's pretty clear I've received an answer - it was to beat the Lakers. Derek Fisher is not what he was, Kyle Lowry is solid all the time, and Aaron Brooks is just crazy fast.

I didn´t watch the game, as I have to go to work and it wasn´t finished the time I left home (stupid time difference!), but I was so proud when I read the result and game report.

I think the Lakers lost their cool and hopefully it won´t return.

Good day to be a Rockets fan. It more than make up for all the crap we had to endure. And a series win over the Lakers will completely shake up the NBA and media world, I would love that!
